A haven from the madness!

A real pleasure to have stayed several days here with my husband - the perfect base to explore Connemara! This hotel provided the perfect mix of genuine hospitality by terrific staff, peace and superb food. There was a great choice between the outside terrace, an atmospheric inside bar or spacious restaurant. Special thanks has to go first to Sally, our initial contact by phone, whose warmth and kindness over our queries about Covid set-up and precautions at the hotel, totally led us to try out this hotel. Throughout our 3 day stay, she continued to be a real beacon of charm and professionalism, but as a unique individual - a true asset to any hotel. Also, as we relaxed in the bar, Gerry, the barman showed incredible patience, compassion and humour which was so much appreciated and restored two weary travellers. Highly recommended and well done to all!

Overnight trip for weary cyclists. Safe storage for bicycles. Room was warm and comfortable with great hot shower. Evening meal in the bar was great with loads of food and perfect pints of Guinness. Good selection of breakfast options and wonderful full Irish breakfast prepared us for another days cycling. Very good value, very nice staff and definitely somewhere we will return to in the future.

Dine with us

Barr na Sráide formally known as Eddie's Bar which was a typical traditional West of Ireland Pub or more precisely a Connemara Pub. Although renovated in October 2023, the bar maintains traditional aspects such as an open fire, old whiskey barrels, and a stone floor.
