About Us and the village of Clonbur

The Lynch family has been welcoming visitors to Connemara for over half a century and understands the true meaning of old-time hospitality. The Hotel first opened its door as a hostelry or licensed premises in 1830 and since 1954, the Lynch’s have kept the fires lighting and the “welcome on the mat”!

We welcome old and new friends equally and we want you to discover the delights of Clonbur and Connemara, Joyce Country. We can organise maps, guides and packed lunches for your day and if the weather is wet, we have a large drying room where we can keep your gear. We endeavour to always make sure your stay is enjoyable, hassle-free and above all, affordable and offer great value seasonal – spring, summer, autumn and winter packages all year round. The longer you stay with us, the harder it is to leave….. but that’s OK too as we’d love you to come back!

We love our village and are so proud to be a part of our local community and all the wonderful achievements that have happened over the last few years. Our vibrant Community Council work so hard and steered our village to becoming the winners of the All Ireland Pride of Place award in 2016 and the Bank of Ireland Begin Together Awards population category under 2000 in 2020. The rooms and the beds are amazing considering the size of the hotel. The bar is fantastic and so is the bar food. The breakfast is fresh and wholesome. Eddie, the owner makes sure he welcomes each guest. Overall this is an exceptional hotel where the owners make an extra effort to see that it is run to the highest standards.”
